Match Tickets

Season 2009-2010

General information

Booking tickets through the London Clarets

Please read all the following information carefully. Failure to follow the instructions may result in your ticket request being overlooked.

For away League matches and away Cup matches, Burnley FC very kindly allocates to us a small quota of match tickets. We then make these tickets available to our membership via a simple booking procedure. Please see below for details of matches currently booking, and be sure to read ALL the information on this page, including the important notes, BEFORE you request any tickets.

The ticket-booking facility is only available to paid-up London Clarets. It's easy to join us (or renew your membership) - take a look at our Membership page.

Please note: due to Burnley now being a Premier League club, demand for tickets will inevitably increase. For this season we will therefore be operating a 'one ticket only per member' rule. Additionally, a ticket ranking chart will be in operation to ensure that tickets go initially only to members who travelled on our organised away match trips or who booked away match tickets most frequently last season. This is to ensure that the allocation process is as fair as possible. The chart will be updated as the season progresses. (There is no 'first come, first served' situation.) Should we be unable to obtain you a ticket, we will let you know as soon as possible if your request was by email.

Because of the ranking system, or the need for early booking, it is likely that blank cheques (that is, signed, dated and made payable to BFCLSC, but with the amount left blank) will often be required. Please be prepared to comply with that requirement. Note that you can if you wish endorse blank cheques "not to exceed [a certain amount]", but you must err on the high side of what you think the ticket price might be.

To request a ticket for a particular game, in the first instance please do one of the following:

  • Email me (or get a friend to do it on your behalf). Please send a separate email for each game, to enable me to file requests by match rather than by member. Additionally it is helpful if the subject of the message is the fixture then your name (e.g. "Blackburn - John Smith").
  • Hand me your written request at a preceding match (home or away).

For obvious administrative reasons I need to have defined and sequential booking periods for the various games. You therefore must wait for bookings to open before requesting tickets for a particular match. Any 'early' requests will not be processed - you have been warned!

In order to have a visual record, I will not accept verbal bookings. The favoured method is email, and all emails will receive a reply. If you think there is any possibility that you might not qualify for a ticket, you really should try to book by email (although within reason I will try and keep people informed).

Remember that only one ticket can be requested per member, and you must give your membership number when booking. You must also state which type of ticket you require (e.g. adult, juvenile concession, senior concession) - note that categories vary by match, so please check the exact details before booking. If you do not specify the ticket category, an adult ticket will be automatically ordered.

You can book tickets for more than one member at a time, but in this situation you will need to supply each member's full name and membership number. Each member's ranking will be individually assessed, and so this is a scenario where blank cheques may be required. On a related note, please be aware that if you get someone else to book on your behalf, you will remain liable for the cost of the ticket.

Once your request has been accepted (subject to your having a high enough ranking - see earlier comments), you will then need to arrange with me whether to collect your ticket from me in person or have it sent by post. If you require the postal service, you will need to send me payment and a first class SAE (my address is in your magazine). Please note that tickets will not be posted until both the SAE and payment have been received; the SAE must be supplied in good time for posting. Cheques should be made payable to BFCLSC and the fixture written on the back. Please use a separate cheque for each match, and please do not send cash.

Home matches

We do not offer a booking service for home matches. Please contact Burnley FC directly should you require home tickets.

Burnley FC Loyalty Points

Please be aware that if you book tickets through the London Clarets, any Loyalty Points will effectively be forfeited. If you wish to collect Loyalty Points, you must book your tickets yourself directly with Burnley FC.

  • Adults: £35
  • Over 65s: £17.50
  • Under 16s: £17

As soon as you have had your ticket order accepted, please send me a first class SAE (unless you know that I already have one for you) and a cheque for the appropriate amount at once. Please make cheques payable to BFCLSC and write the fixture on the back.

Important notes

Please read the following information before making a booking:

  • Once a game is booking, and you're sure that you want to go to it, please get your ticket request in as soon as possible. This enables me to gauge demand for tickets and assess the ticket ranking positions of individuals. It also helps if you let me know if you cannot go to a specific game. You won't lose ranking points, but it will enable me to assess demand more precisely.
  • You must book by the deadline. Booking periods can't be extended, as after the closing time I have to immediately confirm our requirements with Burnley FC.
  • You must provide a separate cheque, made payable to BFCLSC, for each match. To assist me with record-keeping, please write the fixture on the back of the cheque.
  • Any cancellations must be made before the deadline. Otherwise you will be liable for the full cost of the tickets(s) you have ordered.
  • Any tickets sent through the post are mailed at the recipient's own risk. Tickets will be posted at least four working days before the fixture whenever possible, but the London Clarets cannot accept responsibility for lost or delayed tickets.
  • Personal collection from a meeting pub may be an option for many games, and for some it will be essential. Details will be supplied via email before the fixture. Please be aware that to avoid problems with police and stewards, and also to avoid people having to wait around, tickets will not normally be distributed outside the ground. Note that anyone failing to arrive at any nominated meeting pub in good time is likely to find that I have left. In such circumstances you will still be liable for the cost of your ticket(s).

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP IN MAKING THE TICKET-BOOKING PROCESS AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE.
