We support the Clarets Trust!

Our friends at the Clarets Trust have issued a press release outlining their accomplishments to date and their future plans, and explaining why they need everyone's support. We are pleased to reproduce the text of the release below.
The London Clarets are delighted to give their full backing to the Trust and would encourage anyone who hasn't already done so to become a member. Full details of how to join are included in the press release.
If you'd like further information about the Clarets Trust, please check out their website or send them an email.
Clarets Trust Press Release: We Support the Clarets Trust!

By Peter Pike (Chair, Clarets Trust)
The Clarets Trust is asking all Burnley fans to unite in support of Burnley FC. The aims of the Trust are to give Burnley fans a voice within the Club and to promote Burnley FC within the community.
The Clarets Trust has achieved many things since its formation only just over two years ago. Take a look at the following list to see how the Trust is moving forward:
- 61 shares purchased (at £200 each), enabling representation at the Club AGM
- Representative on Supporters' Consultation Group
- 'Shirts 4 South Africa' community project
- 9 board members
- Regular meetings with the Club, during which the Trust negotiated the removal of walk-on fees
- Anti-racism events
- Annual Beer Festival
- 'Stars For A Night' contest and 'Generations' evening
- Youth player sponsorship of Ali Akbar and Jack Overson
In the near future we will also be meeting with the Club to discuss disabled facilities, share-save schemes and many other projects and issues.
The Trust is making progress, as you can see above - BUT we could do more, much more, if enough supporters get involved and promote the Trust.
What can you do?
Join the Trust
Fill in a membership form via the Trust's website and send it with a cheque to the Clarets Trust at their registered office: 30, Dryden Street, Padiham, Lancs BB12 8QT. The website address is www.claretstrust.co.uk and you can also find out there how to join online.
The cost is £10 per year for adults, £7.50 for seniors (over 60) and £5.00 for juniors. If you don't want to have to be reminded each year about joining, then Life Membership can be purchased for £150 and £75 respectively (no junior rates!). The other alternative is to pay by standing order - see the website for details.
You can pay by cheque, PayPal, bank transfer or standing order - or if you want to pay using cash, please contact info@claretstrust.co.uk or ring the Trust Secretary, Steve Corrigan, on 07810 207636.
Tell your friends
Don't just join yourself - get your friends and relatives to join as well. The Trust has shown that the Club is willing to listen to them, so the more supporters that get involved the stronger that voice will be.
Get involved
Do you have an idea? Something to say?
Do you have a skill that may be useful? Maybe you just have a little spare time that you are willing to give to the Trust?
The Trust needs people to design and produce its newsletter, posters for events, leaflets and flyers. Even if somebody is already doing a job, you may find they are more than happy to let someone else take up the reins.
So what are you waiting for? Email, write or phone and pledge your support!
You can contact the Trust via our website, www.claretstrust.co.uk, or via email to info@claretstrust.co.uk. If you wish to speak to someone, then ring Steve on 07810 207636. You can also write to the Trust at our Registered Office:
Clarets Trust 30, Dryden Street Padiham Lancs. BB12 8QT.
Many thanks for your help and best regards.
Peter Pike Chair, Clarets Trust February 2007
